וַיְהִ֤י מִסְפָּרָם֙ עִם־אֲחֵיהֶ֔ם מְלֻמְּדֵי־שִׁ֖יר לַיהוָ֑ה כָּל־הַ֨מֵּבִ֔ין מָאתַ֖יִם שְׁמוֹנִ֥ים וּשְׁמוֹנָֽה׃
און זײער צאָל מיט זײערע ברידער, געלערנטע אין געזאַנג צו גאָט, אַלע קענער, איז געװען צװײ הונדערט און אַכט און אַכציק.
Rashi
every expert - Heb. הַמֵּבִין. In regard to song, the expression is appropriate, for it is written: (below verse 8): “expert (מֵבִין) with pupil.” [Also] (15:22): “And Chenaniah, the leader of the Levites in song; he would chastise in song because he was an expert (מֵבִין).”
